Creative Arts Festival 2014

Don’t Say You Never Tried

Have you explored your creative side lately? No? Oh, yes, of course. Laundry, birthday presents, planting annuals, making dinner, cleaning up after dinner, scrubbing the tile in the shower. Yes… it’s all consuming, isn’t it? Our chores, duties and obligations devour our days, weeks, months, years.

Sometimes we need to pull back from the day-to-day and pull our vision up so we can look at our lives from 10,000 feet. This view offers insight that shiny bathroom tiles don’t reflect. It’s the view that says, “don’t say you never tried.” At the end of your life, don’t say you never tried to pray with a paint brush… or whatever other creative endeavor has been whispering in your ear.

The Creative Arts Festival is an annual event at Ghost Ranch. This week, in late July, early August, in the bounty of summer we offer workshops on painting, poetry, storytelling, acting, metal sculpture, photography and more. Whatever your individual artistic genre, you’ll be able to find it at Ghost Ranch.

What you’ll also find at Ghost Ranch’s Creative Arts Festival is a community of creative explorers. Special evening sessions will bring us together to share the various forms and shapes of our creative endeavors, cross-pollinating ideas, discovering even more. These evening sessions will be led by Colleen Anderson, writer, graphic designer, song-writer, poet and long-time friend and sought-after instructor at the Ranch.

We invite you to explore the Creative Arts Festival at Ghost Ranch,
July 28-August 3, 2014.
