A message from your instructor:
The overarching focus of the retreat is exploring and practicing ways of connecting with our spirit. My experience is that creativity is a direct connection with Soul, and that there are many ways of nurturing and expressing this creativity.
We will be learning to create our own sacred places and habits that nurture our spiritual connection, and also…plenty of unstructured time for you to pursue whatever of the practices you enjoy in greater depth.
For example, walking in nature is a deep spiritual practice for some, and there will be time where you can go on walks in the incredible peace and beauty of Ghost Ranch. The library is cozy and inviting, full of nurturing books for ideas and exploration for those who thrive in this way. Ghost Ranch is full of myriad nooks for quiet contemplation, meditation, and writing. There is time to simply sit and be. And the Studio space will be available for you to continue with your creative projects outside of formal gathering times.
We’ll have time together for sharing, and plenty of time to spend on your own or with others. We are aiming for the group to be no larger than eight women.
I would love to welcome you into this nurturing winter experience.
Born in the mountains of North Carolina and raised in coastal New England, Stede Barber grew up surrounded by great influences of nature and fine art. Drawings filled her mother’s letters, friends’ pockets and classroom bulletin boards. She eventually took her easel to the great outdoors as a landscape painter, moving to the Southwest with its grand vistas and brilliant colors. Throughout her life, she has continued teaching, bring her love of art, color and nature to those who hear the call of paint brush and easel. You can see her work at www.StedeBarber.com.
