Using individual feedback, plein air and studio painting, demos, exercises, meditation and journaling, this course will focus on helping students find their own unique expression of the spirit of the land. Exercises will help students become mindful of what is particularly moving to them. We will also build skills by reviewing specific techniques that help students translate their vision onto the paper. Sharing her palette and painting technique, the teacher will help students learn how to simplify compositions and create colorful, high toned paintings. We will also hike or ride to special spots on the ranch. Although this course is geared to intermediate painters, beginners may be accepted after discussion with the instructor.
In the Spring of 2014, Ghost Ranch is excited to initiate Breathing Ghost Ranch AIR – Artist Immersion and Rejuvenation. Artists of many mediums have long been inspired and nurtured by time at Ghost Ranch and the tradition continues.
These offerings will be intensives for intermediate artists who want to deepen their skills as well as to rejuvenate their inner self/inner artist, too.
