Landscape is a year-round inspiration, especially the Red Rocks and Aqua Chamisa that was a cherished subject-matter of famous artist, Georgia O’Keeffe who lived at Ghost Ranch, a place that inspired many of her most famous paintings. We will explore the Ranch, taking photos and doing small field studies, which we will take back to the classroom, turning them into larger paintings. Whether you are a beginning painter or advanced, this workshop will help you create dramatic compositions, simplified shapes and color values. Michelle Chrisman lives in Taos, NM and is a long-time plein air painter of Northern New Mexico. Michelle is an oil painter, with an emphasis on painting with palette knives to achieve an impasto affect. All painting mediums are welcome.
